Chairman’s Address
Welcome to another season at Cregmore Claregalway FC.
As we begin a new season, it is a great time to reflect on how far our club has come, but also to look ahead to what we want to achieve as a club. Cregmore Claregalway FC has always been about more than football. We are a club built around our players, coaches, volunteers, families and the wider community, with a shared ambition to create an environment where everyone can enjoy their football, develop and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Over the summer, we completed our annual pitch maintenance programme across our pitches and training areas. This is essential to protecting our facilities and ensuring our players have the best possible playing surfaces throughout the season. It is a significant investment in the club and one we will continue to prioritise alongside other facility improvements wherever our resources allow.
One of the most exciting developments we have announced is our collaboration with Coláiste Bhaile Chláir and Clare River Harriers on a new all-weather astro pitch and athletics facilities. This shared facility will benefit our club, the school, Clare River Harriers and the wider Claregalway community for many years to come. We are extremely proud to be part of this partnership and grateful to everyone who has helped bring the project to this stage.
Cregmore has been our home since the club was founded, and we are delighted to have secured a long-term lease of our existing pitches and training areas, demonstrating our continued commitment to the area. At the same time, we are actively exploring opportunities to purchase additional land to cater for our ever-expanding membership and ensure our facilities can keep pace with the growth of the club.
Obtaining FAI Club Mark qualification this year is an important milestone. It gives us a framework to assess where we are, identify areas for improvement and strengthen our approach to coaching, governance, player development and club operations. Having achieved this stage, our aim is now to progress to the next level of Club Mark and continue raising standards across the club.

Our volunteers remain the engine and lifeblood of this club. From coaches and team managers to committee members, pitch volunteers, fundraising teams and everyone working behind the scenes, the club simply could not operate without you. With our recently announced Play for Purpose initiative and several other fundraising activities planned throughout the season, your continued support will be vital to helping us deliver our plans.
We can be proud of what the club has achieved and look forward to continuing that progress. None of this happens through the efforts of one person or one committee, it is the result of the time and commitment of the many volunteers who contribute to the club.
